We do our best to limit our exposure to hazardous elements that might make us sick or contribute to cancer, but did you know that you could exposing yourself on a daily basis without knowing it?
In a recent message from David Suzuki, he identifies that Canadian and US regulations do not force manufacturers to adhere to ingredient disclosure standards. Many products such as foods and cosmetics have a list of ingredients that are used to make the product, but there is no such list on our favorite cleaning products.
Even if you know what chemicals to avoid contact with, it still won’t help you because most manufacturers of cleaning products don’t list what is in the bottles. This poses a potential serious risk to you and your families health.
What can you do?
David Suzuki, and other organizations, are rallying to get regular citizens to send a clear message to their Health Ministers demanding a full disclosure of ingredients and safety risks on cleaning product labels. Is it too much to ask? The answer is simple, no it isn’t.
Who is David Suzuki?
Many Canadians and others around the world have heard his name. David Suzuki is an award-winning scientist, environmentalist, and broadcaster. He is co-founder of the David Suzuki Foundation which works with government, business and individuals to conserve our environment. Sometimes they inform, other times they call us to action by writing to our government, demanding changes for the betterment of the environment and mankind.
