Active in the fight since 1993 against breast cancer, the Ford motor company doubled its efforts in 2006 by introducing a line of clothing wear and gear called Ford Warriors in Pink. The net proceeds from all sales is 100% dedicated to the search for a cure with all donations going to charities offering a wide range of support. The Warriors in Pink also use an unusual outreach program that includes sponsorship of the Komen Race for the Cure, to popular TV shows and magazine ads as well as celebrity endorsement. Their goal is to keep the topic of breast cancer in the forefront and part of daily conversion and also to encourage men and women to perform self-exams. The greater the awareness, the earlier the diagnosis which could mean more lives saved. Ford has donated $120 million the cause and is dedicated and committed to continuing this fight. Please join them whether you are a survivor, close to someone who has survived, or simply someone who cares. Wear the gear to show support and spread the word.
Welcome to all the Warriors! This year’s Ford Warriors in Pink models are actual breast cancer survivors coming from many different places and backgrounds spanning five decades and from all walks of life.
Actor James Denton is just one celebrity that joined forces with Ford Warriors in Pink to help raise awareness and money to help the fight breast cancer. Formerly of Desperate Housewives, he has inspired t-shirt sales in order to raise money for the Pink Fund. Amazingly, 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the unisex Time to Fight tee will be donated to the fund which provides financial assistance to breast cancer sufferers during their treatment.
‘The last thing someone with breast cancer needs is to worry about is how they are going to pay their bills… With the muscle of Ford Warriors in Pink behind the Pink Fund, we think we can really accomplish something’, comments James
